Terms of Use
Effective October 10, 2026 · TeraQuark Industries LLC
These terms are an agreement between you and TeraQuark Industries LLC ("TeraQuark", "we", "us") covering the TimePaws mobile application and the family-linking service behind it (together, the "Service"). By installing or using TimePaws you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
The short version
- TimePaws measures how long apps are open and shows reminders. That is all it does.
- It is not a safety tool, a content filter or a supervision system, and its numbers are estimates that can be late, incomplete or missing.
- Only install it on a device you own or are responsible for, and tell the person using that device.
- It comes with no warranty, and our liability is limited (sections 7 and 8).
1. Who may use TimePaws
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live to agree to these terms. A parent or legal guardian may set up TimePaws on a device used by a child they are responsible for; in that case the parent or guardian accepts these terms on that child's behalf and is responsible for that device's use of the Service.
2. What the Service does
TimePaws uses Android's Usage Access permission to measure how long selected applications are in the foreground on a device, shows an on-screen reminder when a limit you configured is passed, and, only if you create or join a family group, shares screen-time summaries and limit alerts with the linked parent device. What is shared, and what is not, is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
3. What the Service is not
This section matters more than any other. TimePaws:
- does not block, filter, restrict or prevent the use of any app, website or device function;
- cannot see messages, photos, browsing content, contacts, keystrokes, call history or location, and therefore cannot tell you what someone did inside an app or who they interacted with;
- is not a safety, security, supervision or child-protection product, and must not be relied on to detect, prevent or respond to harm, danger, contact with strangers, harmful content, self-harm or any emergency;
- is not a medical, psychological, diagnostic or therapeutic tool, and nothing it displays is advice about anyone's health or wellbeing.
If you are worried about someone's safety or wellbeing, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services. Do not rely on this app.
4. Accuracy: the numbers are estimates
Screen-time figures are derived from operating-system usage statistics and are approximate by nature. Reminders and family updates may be delayed, duplicated, incomplete or absent for reasons outside our control, including: a device being switched off, offline, in battery-saver or Doze mode, or having ended TimePaws' background service; operating-system or manufacturer restrictions on background apps; permissions being revoked; clock or time-zone changes; and network or cloud-provider outages.
A missing update is indistinguishable from a period of no screen time. Absence of data is not evidence of absence of use. You agree to treat every figure the Service reports as an estimate and not as a record of fact.
5. Your responsibilities when monitoring another person
You may install TimePaws only on a device that you own or that you are legally entitled to administer, and you are responsible for obtaining any consent the law requires where you and the device's user are located. Laws on monitoring another person's device, including laws on interception, stalking, and workplace and family surveillance, vary and can carry criminal penalties.
You must tell the person using a linked child device that their screen time is being shared with a family group. TimePaws is designed to be visible on the device it runs on, and you may not attempt to conceal, disguise or silently deploy it. Use of the Service to covertly monitor another adult, or for stalking, harassment, coercion or abuse, is prohibited and may result in termination of access.
You are solely responsible for how you use the information the Service provides, including any decision you make or do not make because of it.
6. Purchases
TimePaws offers optional one-time purchases (currently "Pro" and "Family"), sold and processed through Google Play. Prices are shown in Google Play before you buy. Refunds are governed by Google Play's refund policy and the consumer law of your country; we do not process payments and cannot independently issue refunds. A Pro purchase applies to the Google account that bought it. A Family purchase applies to the family group created by the purchasing parent and the devices linked to it. Purchases are not transferable. "One-time" means we will not charge you again for the features included at the time of purchase; it is not a promise that the Service will be available forever (see section 10).
7. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely or error-free, or that any figure it reports is accurate or complete.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any guarantee or right you have under consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TeraQuark Industries LLC and its members, officers, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising out of or relating to the Service, whether based on contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or any other theory, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
Without limiting the above, we are not liable for any harm arising from: information the Service displayed, failed to display, displayed late or displayed incorrectly; any action taken or not taken in reliance on the Service; any conduct of a person whose device use the Service reported on; or any dispute between members of a family group.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) US$10.00.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TeraQuark Industries LLC from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party and arising from your use of the Service in breach of these terms or of any applicable law, including any claim brought by a person whose device you monitored.
10. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue the Service or any part of it at any time. We may update these terms; if we make material changes we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app; uninstalling deletes the data held on that device. You can delete cloud-stored family data from the app or by request as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for use that breaches these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Idaho will have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally and to the protection of that law, which these terms do not remove.
13. General
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the unenforceable provision applies to the maximum extent permitted. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
